Not every Disney moment is magical and with hot temperatures, long wait times, and adults using children to cut lines, tempers can flare. Concerns over guests being rude to Disney World employees have led to bans being implemented in another country. However, a video that has gone viral shows that guests can be just as confrontational with each other as they are with cast members.
While waiting in line for the “Avatar: Flight of Passage” ride at Animal Kingdom, ongoing verbal sparring turned physical. As the fight erupted, more than one visitor began swinging. It evolved into multiple fist fights, with Orange County Police reportedly responding to the incident soon after.
Ride Becomes “Avatar: Fight of Passage”
While there’s still no official statement from Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, onlookers recorded the fight as it broke out. It’s unclear what started the brawl, only that it ended with multiple individuals swinging at one another.
According to those waiting in line, the individuals involved had been arguing for quite some time. During the entirety of the 80-minute wait for “Avatar: Flight of Passage,” they’d been swapping verbal barbs. Toward the front of the line, the fight turned physical.
“Fight broke out this morning in line for Avatar: Flight of Passage. I’m not sure what started the fight, but I was told the two groups had been arguing the entire wait time. Edit: It wasn’t like cutting. These two groups had been arguing for the entirety of the 80-minute wait. Still not sure what about,” said one user on Reddit.
Many remarked on the visitors’ park status, claiming they’d be permanently barred from Disney for starting a fight. Some also confirmed Orange County’s police dispatch, saying that authorities responded swiftly to the ongoing violence just outside the ride.
“They absolutely get banned. From the sites that track this stuff, it looks like the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was also dispatched to this. Disney’s investigators and they work together to look through videos and issue trespasses. Also, it is likely that people will get arrested. This is not something Disney plays around with,” one user said.

Others commented on how inappropriate this behavior is in a family-friendly environment, especially around kids. The cause of the fight has yet to be determined, but many cite long lines, weather frustrations such as the heat, and the general attitude of impatient visitors.
“Honestly, mind-blowing how you can get this rage-filled in Disney. I was there twice in 2025, and you couldn’t wipe the grin off my face the entire time,” one Disney visitor commented.
Incidents At Disney Increase In 2026
This is not the first time since 2026 began that visitors have caused a violent scene while visiting the park. Back in May, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to an incident that took place inside Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. After responding to the disturbance, it was reported that one woman was arrested.
A 57-year-old woman named Leslie Helen Varley grew enraged over a seating arrangement. This prompted her to throw three ice-water-filled cups at the restaurant’s Disney Duty Manager. But the violence didn’t end there. After that, she approached a cast member working in the restaurant and ripped off his name tag before stalking away. Both employees filed Marsy’s Law for protection against Varley.
One month later, in June, a woman and her daughter from Miami were caught attempting to steal roughly $2,000 worth of Disney pins from the park. Ivette Perez, 52, was arrested, charged with third-degree grand theft, and also with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The two were caught by an employee at Disney’s Pin Traders, who saw Perez’s daughter scooping pins into her bag.
TheTravel has reached out to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication. As of August 4th, no further details have been released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Police Department.
